What kind of x 10 attachment are you using?

    1. Thanks Ferdy. I was surprised that it didn't fly off when I got close to it - especially with how close you have to get with the extension tubes and the lens!

I'm not ashamed to say that the "close up lenses" cost me £8.63. Everything to do with my camera has been on a budget as I didn't want to spend a lot on hardware especially if it turned out I didn't like macro photography. Besides, it's more fun getting bargains, especially if you can get good results with them :)

      1. I've heard in various places about those low-cost attachments, so I was curious how you like them. I'm somewhat of a gear nerd myself, but still believe that it is definitely not the deciding factor in getting a good photo. Posted 10 years ago
        1. Don't get me wrong, you get what you pay for. One of them (the +4) rattles inside it's frame. You also lose out on a fair amount of depth of focus but for the price, they aren't bad at all. I've had pleasing results with them as in this picture you've already seen :)

Spider mite This was the hardest thing to capture so far. Fast and clearly had no idea where it was going! That and it was tiny... Tetranychus urticae

          1. That shot really proves that you can get a great shot with such gear. Macro often is hit and miss, even with good gear :) Posted 10 years ago
