    He's not a spider, but rather a harvestman (aka daddy longlegs). They are arachnids, along with spiders, scorpions, mites and ticks, but they differ quite a bit from spiders. IDing at the species level can be difficult to impossible… there is a lot of variation and many lookalikes, especially within the brownish ones. Posted 10 years ago, modified 10 years ago

      Thank you, I've no idea why I had it in my mind it was a spider. I was even looking at harvestmen in my bug ID book. Note to self, don't upload and ID stuff when tired ;-) Posted 10 years ago
