Stargazer Lily From wikipedia: Lilium 'Stargazer' (the Stargazer lily) is a hybrid lily of the Oriental group. Oriental lilies are known for their fragrant perfume, blooming mid-to-late summer. Stargazers are easy to grow and do best in full sunlight.[1] They have a fast growth rate and should be planted in full sun in well drained loamy or sandy soil. When mature, Stargazers can grow to a height of 36 inches with a spread of 10 to 14 inches with 4 to 5 flowers per stem.[2] Geotagged,Stargazer,United States,Uranoscopus bicinctus Click/tap to enlarge Promoted

  1. lilium stargazer isn't technically a species, it's a variety of lilium orientalis. These guys are hybrids, so I think lilium x orientalis would be the most correct, though lilium orientalis may be acceptable too? Posted 10 years ago
    1. Yes I came to the same conclusion after I posted the request. Just wanted a second set of eyes on it. Thanks!!

    2. Where did you find a reference for lilium x orientalis or lilium orientalis? All I find is the Oriental hybrids (Division VII) or as quoted above - hybrid lily of the Oriental group. Posted 10 years ago

      2. This does come up when searched on the preview of the Wiki page, but when you actually go there, this information doesn't appear... "Lilium 'Stargazer'

Hybrids are rough.. The Wisconsin Master Gardener Website says Stargazers are a "complex auratum-speciosum cross of unknown parentage" http://wimastergardener.org/?q=StargazerLily
