  1. This could be Vespa affinis or Vespa tropica. Unfortunately the wasp is not well focused to see the yellow band. This is a small nest but they can build much larger ones.
    Vespa affinis can easily be distinguished from Vespa tropica by its smaller size and the distribution of the yellow band on the abdomen; the yellow band covers the first and second segments in Vespa affinis, but only the second in Vespa tropica.
