  1. I don't think this is a taihaku - there shouldn't be any pink and the flowers should be single.
    "There is not a hint of pink or yellow on the petalsand the near-blueness of the white, together with the lack of either a crinkled edge or any double flowers"
    Garden flower and trees can be tough with all of the hybrids out there.

    1. Thank you for helping - I must admit I wouldn't have a clue. I took this at some public gardens and I thought this was the sign attached to it! I may have got my labels confused! Posted 10 years ago
      1. Great white cherry tree, Prunus Taihaku is a cultivar of the Japanese cherry Prunus serrulata. This is most likely another double flower cultivar of the same species which range from white to pink. Posted 10 years ago
