Flesh Fly I found this little fly perched on a dying leaf in my garden. Luckily for me it stayed put just long enough for me to retrieve my camera and double check my settings.   1. Unfortunately 'Sarcophaga' is a genus and not a species. we cannot create a genus, it needs to come down to species level which, with most insects, is extremely difficult!

      1. Don't feel bad - I have a fly from last week with the same issue... the only way to ID it further than genus would have been to examine the underside of the wing... so it shall remain anonymous. Posted 10 years ago
