American Toad (Anaxyrus americanus)
It was very obviously mating season for the American Toad... there must've been over a hundred swimming around throughout the park (as well as a few other frog species). You can see four in this shot (maybe five... I'm not sure if that is a blurry one in the upper right corner or not).
The American toad is a common species of toad found throughout the eastern United States and Canada. It is divided into three subspecies—the eastern American toad , the dwarf American toad , and the rare Hudson Bay toad . A new taxonomy places this species in the genus ''Anaxyrus'' instead of ''Bufo''.
