  1. Those looks like quite deep wounds, I hope it manages to live through it. Posted 10 years ago
    1. I'm rooting for the dogs! :P Posted 10 years ago
  2. Both need to survive: the gaur to raise its young, and the dogs to keep populations of other mammals in check. I like to see the guar made it to nurture its calf, but the more hostile side in me would like to see a predator take something like this down... Posted 10 years ago
    1. I'm with you on this... :) see :
A dangerous place This was a Gaur drinking from the reservoir, less than 500m away from where we spotted the tiger strolling in the forest (http://www.jungledragon.com/image/26695/the_stroll.html )... We sat and i hoped for a kill, but to no avail. It highlights the risk taken for a drink! Bos gaurus,Gaur,Geotagged,India,John Rowell,Kabini,Wildlife,Winter, adhocphotographer, redearth

The gaur, also called Indian bison, is the largest extant bovine and is native to South Asia and Southeast Asia. The species is listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List since 1986, as the population decline in parts of the species' range is likely to be well over 70% during the last three generations.
