Long-jawed water spider (Tetragnatha) I cannot get this down to species level with this photo, I will have to try to get a dorsal view.<br />
Tetragnatha tend to build their webs over or near water where they prey on mosquitoes and other flying insects. Good to have around! Spiders,Tetragnatha,Tetragnathidae, arachnids, south africa, water spiders Click/tap to enlarge

  1. I found a similar one a while ago in Macedonia, but it is not a very clear shot so I haven't uploaded it. Posted 10 years ago

    1. Yes Jivko it is! I did find out but not had a chance to update. Not got it down to species level just yet. I will update with full info tomorrow. Thank you!!
By the way I have changed the name of your spider to its Latin name only as 'Long Jawed Orb Weaver' refers to many species and not just the genus.
