The Mopane worm, like the species id says, is very edible and filled with protein.

It occurs in summer, and is consumed either roasted over a fire, or dried in the sun. I have tried it (both ways - dried and roasted) ... and I will not try it again. What can I say, worms don't really tingle my taste buds.

  1. This doesn't look like Gonimbrasia belina. The one the reference is very spiny and the stripes are in the other direction.

    1. Thanks for commenting. You are right, those images (your references) look completely different to this one. I am a bit confused. The ones I ate definitely did not have those spines ... .

      To be honest, then I have no idea what this guy is ... . Sorry for that.
