  1. That's fantastic! I'm very curious about the species, any idea? Note that we also have a guide of useful websites that may help in identification:

    1. Well unfortunatly I can't really help you with it. I was sweating enough picturing it with my MP-E, I didn't risk to ask her about any ID card! Posted 10 years ago
      1. No worries, if you don't know, you don't know. I'll share some info on why we obsess over species on the site:

        http://www.jungledragon.com/all/unidentified

The above overview shows unidentified species. We have 88% identified on the site, and we like to keep that number as high as possible.

Above is the 2nd reason. Due to species identification on photos, we're able to offer a "tree of life", where you can drill down into all types of families and creatures.

And finally, we consider it a fun game, which also happens to be educational, both to viewers and the photographer itself.

I hope this explains why this question will keep getting asked :)

  2. Do you have an overview of the spider to see the pattern on the back?
Here's a link with a few species from South Africa, I don't know if the same species are found in your area.
