Unknown spider with egg sac At the moment this spider is under scrutiny as it cannot be identified. Initially the spider was believed to be a Hairy Field Spider, which generally create orb webs. But then she went and produced this egg sac which is typical of a Feather-legged Spider which create hackled webs. This little one (5mm) has a totally haphazard web. There are actually two of these in the garden, both in similar pose and both with similar egg sacs. At this time Ansie Dippenaar, a spider expert is trying to assist with an ID. 1. Side view:
Araneidae of some sort side view Araneid, experts state either Neoscona, Araneus or Hyposinga. I cannot find an exact match for the markings on any of these so unless I get a confirmed species from Dr Dipenaar, then it will have to remain as it is...some kind of spider!
