Alien insect? I have absolutely no idea what this is at the moment, its the strangest thing I have ever seen. About 4mm long. Not the best of photos, it was in an awkward position and I was too lazy to get the tripod and external flash out. Shame on me! 1. It should be a flatid bug nymph (Flatidae). Posted 11 years ago
    1. Could be, but it has also been suggested that it is a cicada larvae which is looking more positive. Need to delve deeper! Thanks Wildflower

  2. Now narrowed down to Issidae larvae, just need to find the correct species Posted 11 years ago
  3. This is pure awesomeness, I love this freaky side of nature. Posted 11 years ago
  4. Interesting creature, very curious if you can figure out what it is :) Posted 11 years ago
  5. It seems that I am going to have to content myself with planthopper nymph (Issidae), there are so many species and so few images of the nymphs, none of which match this one exactly.
Not completely given up yet though!
