Given how heavy the combination is (D800 + 105mm) and how even the tiniest movement with this lens means a ruined shot, I am obviously extremely proud of her. Short-winged Meadow Katydid - by Ymke Broeren I am posting this one on behalf of Ymke, my 13 year old niece who captured this shot in our garden. It was the first time she ever handled a DSLR or a macro scene. The speckled bush-cricket is a flightless species of bush-cricket belonging to the family Tettigoniidae. The species was originally described as "Locusta punctatissima" in 1792.
