Green Crab Spider - Misumessus oblongus
After having taken a kayak trip and not seen *any* wildlife besides the splashes of jumping salmon and a few gulls waiting for them, I was disappointed… then walking up from the water with the boats I walked right through a spider web and picked up this little engaging gal -a tiny, tiny little green crab spider. Though she was only about a cm wide, she menaced me with all of her might, waving her legs at me, making sure I knew exactly how mean a tiny little spider could be :p. She was sitting on the black cap of my water bottle when I took her photo.

I do believe she's an oblongus - because in other shots I have you can see her more diamond than rounded shaped abdomen, but she's probably also not a fully mature spider - she was really, really tiny Posted 10 years ago, modified 10 years ago

Here all the 3 species are given separately: Musimena vatia, Misumena oblonga and Misumessus oblongus.
So which one is the right species I don't know now. Posted 10 years ago, modified 10 years ago
