My boyfriend pointed out a pair of bees on these thistles, on the trail to Osprey Falls, YNP. As I went in for a close up shot with my phone, his partner fell off. He then left me with a grimace on his face.

  1. Osprey Falls, YNP is not within the distribution range of Bombus pensylvanicus and it doesn't look much like it either. This is another species of bumblebee. It is hard to tell which one it is from this photo alone though. Here's a key to the American species.
