Spotted Orb Weaver spider (Neoscona crucifera) in my Kane PA garden.
This beautiful spider was found in my flower garden. I was able to get several good photos and I observed how its web worked to capture prey. It seems to use some sort of "trip wire" so when something lands on the web, the vibration created alerts the spider. It is very interesting to watch.

''Neoscona crucifera'' is an orb-weaver spider in the family Araneidae. It is found in the United States from Maine to Florida in the east, to Minnesota in the Midwest, to Arizona in the southwest, and in Mexico.
