Tick! I think I have narrowed this down to one of three families Ixodidae, but as there are over 700 species in the family I am not sure if I will be able to narrow it down any further, but I shall try! 1. Probably Rhipicephalus but I still need to narrow it down further Posted 11 years ago
  2. Ouch, nasty creatures. Hey Claire, about my art site, I have set it up multi language, I promised a few weeks ago to let you know; so without further ado:) http://kunst.lsak.com/index.php?lang=en
Would you be so kind as to punch me for linguistic blundering? Thx Claire!

    1. Will do Ludo but probably not the best place to respond, I will email you if necessary (I presume contact details on there!) Posted 11 years ago
  3. I read a while ago that these buggers can live up to three months on a single belly full. When not killed by frost they also extend to three years or so in lifespan. Yummy:) Posted 11 years ago
    1. Interesting, especially as we very rarely get frost here, we must have a lot of aging ticks around. At least the birds love them, so they do have a purpose! Posted 11 years ago
      1. Hey, at least they are juicy:) Arrghh, yuck;) Posted 11 years ago
  4. Studies have also shown that some tick species may live up to 30 days submerged in water... Posted 11 years ago
