  1. It doesn't look like a parasol mushroom (Macrolepiota procera) to me. Where did you find it? Posted 11 years ago, modified 11 years ago
  2. This mushroom is not a Macrolepiota procera. The main features which distinguish it from Parasol mushroom are:
    - the gills are decurrent, while those of M.procera are adnexed and free.
    - the cap is depressed, while the cap of M.procera is umbonate, the umbo is always retained.
    - there is no ring on the stem, while M.procera has a double ring.
