Yponomeuta spp. in oak tree, Uden, Netherlands
The caterpillars of the Oak Processionary are slowly moving into Northern Europe due to the rising temperatures. They are considered a plague due to their irritating bristles, which cause irritation (or worse) on human skin. In the Netherlands, in most urban areas they are actively removed, yet you may encounter them in a forest.
