Louisiana iris
My lovely iris are in bloom once again in and around the pond. Here is one of the hybrid types growing there.
Louisiana iris are a clump forming, evergreen perennial that grow from a rhizome.
Originating from the swamplands of Louisiana in the USA. It is the official state wildflower.
'Delta Twilight' (Mary Dunn, R. 1995). 'Fat Tuesday' X 'Cammeray'. Bay View 1996. Honorable Mention 1999.
Growing to 90 cm in height.
Although this isn't a pure species, I thought it worth sharing here to appreciate the beauty that iris offers.
