  1. This is a hover fly, not a potter wasp.

    Potter wasps have 2 pairs of wings, hover flies have 1 pair.
    Hover flies have large eyes that cover most of its head, potter wasps have smaller eyes.
    Potter wasps have a stinger, a hover fly does not.

    This might be Allobaccha amphithoe or something similar.
