
Rice Root Aphid - Tetraneura akinire
Pubescent, pouch-like galls on short, green stalks on the upperside of the leaves. The undersides of the galls were fuzzy and open. Most of the galls were in clusters of various sizes. Most galls had a single nymph, while a few had what looked like an adult, as well.

The oriental grass root aphid, "Tetraneura akinire", is an aphid in the superfamily Aphidoidea in the order Hemiptera. It is a true bug and sucks sap from plants.
