Blackish Meadow Katydid, Conocephalus semivittatus ssp semivittatus, family Tettigoniidae

The Blackish Meadow Katydid is a pale green katydid with broad dark brown stripe running along the back. The antennae are extremely long measuring about four times the total body length. The katydid produces a low buzzing sound during summer season. These katydids are most active in late afternoon and at night.
