  1. I could not be able to classify this fly. Some specialist say it is Thahinid, Genus: Phasia. Posted 11 years ago
    1. The flies are even worse than the hoppers. It looks a lot like the first 2 references, but you probably don't have a close-up of the ovipositor and that could be the key to the identification. The second one says E. oblonga or crassipennis, so... I found a French site with photos of Ectophasia crassipennis. The female also looks the same to me and I don't know how to discriminate between them. If it is by the shape of the genitalia, which is very likely, you can never tell from a photo.

  2. Yes, I've noted the remarks "or crassipennis" and maybe to be accurate a close genitalia investigation should be done... by someone more educated than me. Posted 11 years ago
