  1. Nice macro. Where was this photo taken?
This is a recently described species from Japan and there is very little information about it. If you have more detailed information it would be useful for the creation of the species ID.

    1. Thank you. It was taken in Bulgaria last summer. But please note, I am not an entomologist, the classifications are based on photos I take and Wikipedia, discussions in Facebook and Twitter, reference to some specialized web-sites, catalogs and Guides, etc. Some of my classifications could be not so precise... 1. They look very much like the ones identified in this genus, but they are native to Japan and east Asia...

If this photo was taken in Bulgaria, it could be another genus. I am not an entomologist either and I use whatever more or less reliable sources I can find but information is scarce about these hoppers. I was actually hoping that you could help me with the identification of the ones I have uploaded.

  2. Yes, it is difficult to ID them. I could be wrong. In EOL there is only one photo - no more detailed info.

Maybe somebody will help with this.

    1. As a general tip, it is useful to include the location where you captured the species in the photo title or description, it greatly helps in narrowing down possibilities. Posted 11 years ago
  3. Of course this is wrong. It was first put under Miramella alpina and now as a Japanese species. But it is an Odontopodisma sp. Posted 2 months ago
    1. He-he, thank you John! It is one of the first photos of mine uploaded to JD - in 2014. I've never looked back to it.
I removed the wrong species name.

      Thanks again!
