  1. You might also want to compare it to Hypolimnas sp. It looks very similar to Hypolimnas anomala. Posted one year ago
    1. Thanks! That does look similar. Having some small doubts about that largish white spot in the middle of the wing of Hypolimnas anomala. Posted one year ago
      1. I think it would be a subspecies. Of course, there are other similar species in the Hypolimnas genus. I have serious doubts that your butterfly is Elymnias cybele, though. The pattern on the edges of the wings is completely different, the body pattern is different, yours has a pale stripe across the hindwing that Elymnias cybele doesn't seem to have, and Elymnias cybele has pale tips on the antennae (absent in your photo). Although, I saw some individuals without the pale tips, so I am not sure if that is a diagnostic feature. Perhaps it is a subspecies of Elymnias cybele, but I am still doubtful because the subspecies I found online still seem too different. Posted one year ago, modified one year ago
        1. Will leave it at Hypolimnas sp. for now as that seems the most promising direction. Thanks for the analysis! Posted one year ago
