Green and black poison dart frog (Dendrobates auratus)
From a hike along Río Bananito, on a crest in the forest - one of the most iconic species of poison dart frogs that can be found in this region.
Actually, this was just a few paces away from where we saw the strawberry poison dart frog, another iconic species. All in all, the "Adventure waterfall tour" in the Selva Bananito Lodge was a deeply rewarding one.

The green-and-black poison dart frog is a brightly colored member of the order Anura native to Central America and northwestern parts of South America. This species has also been introduced to Hawaii.
