The Smooth-banded sister (Adelpha cytherea marcia)
From a hike along the banks of the Bananito river in 2014.
I just realised that ca 1 1/2 hours before taking this picture, I had observed a butterfly of the same species freshly emerged from its chrysalis, drying its wings. This species is listed as common, so it was probably a different individual, but who knows :)

"Adelpha cytherea", the smooth-banded sister, is a species of butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It is found in the Central and South America.
