    It's just a visual guess, I don't know how to ID slime molds. It seems they sometimes also appear as black, which may explain your other photo.

    1. Very possibly- slime molds can go through a lot of drastic appearance changes over their life cycle… I wish there was more literature in them, but it seems pretty sparse. I’d guess there are probably far more species than are documented.. this particular park is a slime paradise apparently.. if anyone out there is looking to study them, it’s a great place to find some.
