Unidentified fly, possibly a tachinid with butterfly, also unidentified We watched this beautiful black spotted butterfly (I'm assuming), flying in a lakeside villa garden just outside Como when this fly swooped down, caught it and then flew off with it. Maybe a tachinid? Haven't managed to identify the prey either. Butterfly,Fly,Lake Como,Lombardy Click/tap to enlarge Promoted

  1. Nice capture! The fly is a robber fly in the family Asilidae and the butterfly is probably in the family Lycaenidae. Posted 2 years ago
