
Female Green-Underside Blue (Glaucopsyche alexis)
A female Green-Underside Blue from the Kaiserstuhl in South-Western Germany. A male specimen would have a much larger blue area that would leave only a narrow black fringe at the edges.

The Green-Underside Blue (Glaucopsyche alexis) is a butterfly of the Lycaenidae family. It is found in Europe. The butterfly flies from April to July depending on the location, on warm lush meadows with plenty of hostplant (Vicia).
