  1. My search led to Ectopsocus sp. as well. Maybe Ectopsocus californicus? It also looks very similar to Ectopsocus petersi, but it seems like the distribution would probably be off for that species unless it's an import? Posted 2 years ago
    1. hmmm looking at BugGuide it looks like we don't have petersi, but we do have briggsi and californicus..

      "E. briggsi and E. californicus are difficult to distinguish except on a slide even when you have them on hand, and photos are much more difficult. Apparently now, E. briggsi has become established in spots along the east coast, so that both species occur now on both coasts."

      They appear to be separating them out somehow... there's plenty of photos in each category, but I've got no idea how they are differentiating.
