
Blistum tomentosum is a hyphomyceet that regularly occurs in the winter months on slime molds of the genus Trichia. This parasite looks to the naked eye as a kind of fluff that on closer inspection is made up of lots of small white spores carrying stalks with a white button at each end. Blistum tomentosum is anamorphic of Byssostylbe stilbigera and commonly occurs on slime molds for. Due to its very small size, however, reported few observations.
