Utricularia juncea, Guapi, Colombia
After landing in Guapi airport, our guide Manuel searched the grasses next to the airstrip for carnivorous plants, despite it being full of soldiers due to an upcoming vice-presidential visit. He managed to collect 3 separate species of Utricularia, which are extraordinary plants due to their sophisticated traps.

"Utricularia juncea" is a small to medium-sized, probably perennial carnivorous plant that belongs to the genus "Utricularia". "U. juncea" is native to Central, South, and North America. It grows as a terrestrial plant in marshes, swamps, and pools in shallow waters, mostly at lower altitudes.
