Eastern Bluebird - Sialia sialis For the past 2 years, this same bird has been hanging out at my mom&#039;s window. It comes everyday and spends hours pecking at, flapping its wings at, and chirping at the window. Or, it perches on the hummingbird feeder, which is mounted on a window. Then, it will move to the door knob. It does this for HOURS everyday. Everyday! <br /> <br /> It seemed that he had left in early autumn. But, now he&#039;s back. I spent the past couple days watching him and wondering what he is thinking/trying to do. He will literally sit on the window all day, staring inside. Every now and then, he flies off to the woods to eat some bittersweet berries, but then returns.     I think is becasue he/she sees its own image in the window. Many birds are atracted by their own reflection... just a theory :-) Posted 2 years ago

The Eastern Blubird

The eastern bluebird is a small North American migratory thrush found in open woodlands, farmlands, and orchards. The bright-blue breeding plumage of the male, easily observed on a wire or open perch, makes this species a favorite of birders.
