Neotropical Land Planarian (Pseudogeoplana), Caquetá, Colombia The highlight of this night tour was our first ever observation of a flatworm (planarian). This one is a Neotropical Land Planarian (Subfamily Geoplaninae), probably genus Pseudogeoplana. This genus is a temporary dumping ground of species that need to be redescribed.<br />

Planarians have a remarkable biology. One of which is that they are theoretically immortal, they can regenerate any missing body part, including their head.<br />
