    Not to be a pain, lol, but I'm not sure about this being Meriphus australis. The only photos of that species that I could find are here:
    http://esperancewildlife.blogspot.com/2011/06/flower-weevil-meriphus-australis.html

    The pattern on the above species seems darker than on your beetle. But, maybe it's individual variation within the species?

    But, when searching further, I found M. fullo, which looks like a closer match to your beetle:

    I'm not sure if M. fullo is a match either though because I also found these, which really look like your weevil, but sadly are left at genus-level ID:
