Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca)
It belongs to the ducks but because of it weight and size it is no wonder why it was named Egyptian goose.
The Egyptian Goose has spread widely thanks to its adaptability and prolific reproduction. She likes to live in public parks where she often finds water areas. I took the photo in the beautiful Kurpark Bad Homburg. There lives a small colony of these beautiful birds. In Frankfurt, there were debates about how to deal with a problem, namely a proliferating population in a large public swimming pool, where they had contaminated the green areas.

The Egyptian Goose is a member of the duck, goose and swan family Anatidae. It is in the shelduck subfamily Tadorninae, and is the only extant member of the genus "Alopochen".
