Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) The Egyptian Goose has spread widely thanks to its adaptability and prolific reproduction. She likes to live in public parks where she often finds water areas. I took the photo in the beautiful Kurpark Bad Homburg. There lives a small colony of these beautiful birds. In Frankfurt, there were debates about how to deal with a problem, namely a proliferating population in a large public swimming pool, where they had contaminated the green areas.<br />

  1. Very attractive geese! We have an abundance of Canada geese around here. So many, in fact, that some people shoot them out of annoyance, which I obviously don't recommend even though the mean buggers terrify me. Posted 2 years ago
    1. Thanks, yes they are eye candies. What do they do to terrify you? Posted 2 years ago
      1. Haha, well...Canada geese are known to be mean and easily irritated. They chase people, attack, hiss, etc. "Terrify" may be a strong word, but these geese are notorious for being aggressive and there are millions of them in the US. There are lots of attacks, although in many instances, humans are instigators as they get too close to the geese on purpose. But, for me, I have been chased by them many times when hiking near ponds. I always avoid them and stay as far away as possible, yet they don't care. They often attack anyway.

There are countless memes and videos about Canada geese attacks. Here are a couple videos:
