  1. My theory would be that the first is a bit overexposed? Posted 2 years ago
    1. It looks like that. The weird thing is that I used flash for the other photo (the secoond one), not this one. I guess the settings, mainly the f-stop, make that much of a difference? Posted 2 years ago
      1. Yes, consider this scale:

        https://www.outdoorphotographyschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Table-of-apertures-and-areas-1120x600.jpg

        From f/2.8 to f/11 is 4 stops. That's 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 16. So f/11 lets in 16(!!!) times less light into your lens opening compared to f/2.8.

        1. Makes sense. This happened to me again this morning. The AV settings on my camera are wonky. I need to make some adjustments. Posted 2 years ago
          1. So the camera was in AV mode yet auto-selected aperture on its own? Posted 2 years ago
            1. I don't know. Maybe? Lol. I have been pressing too many buttons lately whilst experimenting. But, I need to learn to think first and press second.

When using AV, my camera used to make the photos a bit darker because I was using a smaller aperture. But, now, they are much brighter. I either changed something else by accident or I don't know what. I might have bumped some buttons bc my focus point changed too.

              1. Normally in AV mode, the camera does not select aperture, you do. Don't know about your camera, but changing aperture is normally a firm dial, a minor bump would not change f/2.8 to f/11. Feel free to take this to email if you continue to be stuck. Posted 2 years ago
