  1. Welcome to JungleDragon! Thanks for sharing this cool mushroom! Can you please add the geotag? That will help make identification easier.

    Unless you are located in Australia, I doubt this is Amanita xanthocephala (Vermillion Grisette). Also, when comparing to other online photos of Amanita caesarea, it seems unlikely that the mushroom in this photo would be a Caesar.

    I would try comparing it to Russula sp. or Lactarius sp. Also, when photographing mushrooms, it is very helpful to get a clear shot of the gills/pore surface.

  2. Thanks for the greeting and the advice. lol, as you can see I couldn't decide whether to get more gil or cap in the photo. Hopefully I will come across some more specimens soon. Looking forward to learning here in the jungle. Posted 3 years ago
