Heteropsis sp. Little butterfly around 5cm long found in Ranomafana forest in daylight. Heteropsis is a butterfly from Nymphalidae family recognized by its light brown to dark brown colors and the eyespot on its wings. The number of eyespot can be different between specimen but there's always this white spot surrounded by dark, then light to dark brown.   1. I think there are at least 40 Heteropsis species in Madagascar. Not sure if there is a database somewhere. Trying to find some more detailed info. Posted 2 years ago, modified 2 years ago
