Violet-Toothed Polypore - Trichaptum biforme I only took a shot of this fungus because the color was so fantastic. It wasn&#039;t until uploading the photo that I noticed there are fairy pins (Phaeocalicium polyporaeum) on the fungus! "Trichaptum biforme" is a species of poroid fungus in the order Hymenochaetales. It is a saprobe that decomposes hardwood stumps and logs.
