Spectacled Berry Fly (Anomoia purmunda)
I guess the sun must have been hitting the wings of this very attractive little fly at just the correct angle, because I saw something shimmering on the surface of one of my Ivy bushes from some distance away.
I may never have noticed this fly without that piece of luck.
I'm glad I did, it was quite entertaining to watch in the brief time I could before it flew away.

Anomoia purmunda (previously Phagocarpus purmundus) is a Fruit fly (Tephritidae) in the sub-family Trypetinae, known from a large area over central and northern Europe.
