  1. Also an aphid wasp, perhaps? Posted 3 years ago
    1. I’m not sure - when they are this tiny I still sometimes have trouble distinguishing between wasps and bees.. Posted 3 years ago
      1. I'm sure there are exceptions, but normally I think that a hairless body would strongly favor the wasp option. Posted 3 years ago
        1. Could be a sweat bee (Halictidae)? Cuckoo wasps (Chrysididae) are similar, but have lots of pits on their thorax, which this bee doesn't seem to have. There are also differences in number of abominal segments, wing veination, and subantennal sutures, but I can't make those out in this shot. Posted 3 years ago, modified 3 years ago
          1. I have a lot more images, but this little guy was super active, so most of them are blurry... I'm pretty sure it's a bee. It's a lot more hairy than this image lets on. It looks like it could be a very tiny Halictidae, if they are ever this small.. Posted 3 years ago
            1. I don't know how people get clear shots of the specific features because they are so busy! Halictids can range from ~4-10 mm long. Posted 3 years ago
