A Small Chiton!
This small chiton is more than likely Gould’s Baby Chiton. It is quite common in our intertidal region. Although common it is not often seen because of its small size, up to 2.7cm. This little guy was 1.5cm. It was under a rock that I lifted to see what was there! The rock was carefully replaced.
Gould’s Baby Chiton, Cyanoplax dentiens.
