
Pandora Sphinx Caterpillar - Eumorpha pandorus
I spotted this caterpillar on a tree while hiking. It caught my eye because it was engaging in a strange back-and-forth rhythmic motion.
Habitat: Found on a Parthenocissus quinquefolia vine (Virginia creeper) that was growing up a tree; Mostly deciduous forest

The Pandora sphinx moth, also called the Pandorus Sphinx Moth, is a North American moth in the Sphingidae family. It is a large, greenish gray moth with darker patches and pink edges and small pink eyespots.
