    1. It does very much - do they occur out here too? There is so little info on these that I don't usually get far before it says something like there are 100's of uncatalogued species and you need to examine them under a microscope to tell much... but they are often very pretty, so I continue to photograph them :) Posted 3 years ago, modified 3 years ago
      1. BugGuide has Stenochironomus hilaris and Stenochironomus colei documented in Washington. So, maybe there are other species as well?

        I find the same thing -- soo many underdocumented species and the IDs may require microscopy. But, as you said, they are indeed pretty! I like photographing midges, but IDing them is often beyond me.
