    Very difficult. I too arrived at soldier flies, for example genus Microchrysa. But also found superficially similar species in Lance flies (such as genus Lonchaea) and some humpback flies, family Phoridae.

          Yeah -- I think there are a lot of species and I've never seen them IDed past genus-level. Posted 3 years ago
